I am based at FSCO Walldürn in the Odenwald region in Germany.
Is gliding your occupation or is it your passion?
At the moment gliding is my pure passion, I am a student studying international business in the dual system. This means I can get a degree and gain work experience at the same time.
Do you have an advice for "beginners"?
If you want to look further into the adventures of cross country flying, I can suggest the gliding books that I listed in one of my blog articles. These really helped me doing my first steps.
How did you get into gliding?
It's in my blood I guess... My grandfather and my father both are into general aviation. Anyways I am the first glider pilot in our family.
Which programm do you use for your photo editing?
Personally I love working with the Adobe Creative Suite which includes Lightroom and Photoshop. For the YouTube videos I go for Premiere Pro and for reels or TikTok I found the ideal combination is a mix of Premiere and the free CapCut App.
How long did it take you to do your first solo?
It took me about 8 weeks with a total of 70 winch launches. This was possible thanks to an Easter holiday gliding camp at our club until our second camp at Pentecost.
How old are you?
Isn't age just a number? :D Here are some age-related facts about myself:
I started gliding with 14 years
I took my practical flight exam at 15
With 17 I participated at the bavarian junior gliding training camp "LIMA"
At the age of 18 I bought my first glider, the Std Libelle
Any plans to get a PPL?
Not yet, but maybe one day. At the moment I an working on my touring motor glider license. :)
Do you have a winchdriver license?
Yes, driving the winch is a lifestyle of a different kind... ;)
